Before getting all excited about going to exchange in Asia, remember to make a packing list of the things to bring along with you for the few months in Asia! Asia is a really humid tropical country so there are a few things that are extremely important for you to bring along (especially if you’re from the colder countries)!
necessities
-
A big backpack - A backpack is always a good idea when you travel, especially when you’re going to countries that are not so much in the city area where you’ll not be able to roll your luggages smoothly on the ground. Many budget airlines also have a specific baggage dimension and weight requirement and hence, backpack is the way to go!
-
Water bottle! Asia has a very high humidity level and people tend to sweat more in Asia so remember to bring along a water bottle to keep yourself hydrated throughout.
-
Cap or Umbrella - Most of the Southeast Asian countries have summer-like weather all year round except Korea and Taiwan. Bring along your cap and umbrella to shield yourself from the sun if you don’t want to get burnt!
-
Sunblock - Yes...yes....sunblock is extremely important so bring them and apply generously when you’re travelling around Asia!
-
Sunglasses - To shield and protect your eyes from the sun and also to look cool at the same time!
-
Clothes! For countries like Singapore and Thailand, you can pack light as it is really considered summer all year round! You can wear sleeveless singlets and shorts and it should be good to keep you cool. For countries like Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Hong Kong, there are some seasons of the year that are relatively colder. So please check the season and average temperature of the country before you start on your packing!
